Helena Frawley is a pelvic floor physiotherapist in Melbourne, currently completing a PhD at The University of Melbourne. Her research project is on the effect of a physiotherapy pelvic floor exercise program for women undergoing gynaecological surgery, and measurement of pelvic floor muscle function. Her current positions are Lecturer and Course Coordinator for undergraduate and postgraduate Women’s Health Programs in the School of Physiotherapy, University of Melbourne, and Senior Clinician in the Vulval Pain Clinic at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne. Helena has a strong clinical background as a private practitioner in women’s health for many years, with a special interest in chronic pelvic pain. She has recently co-authored a chapter on pelvic pain in an evidence-based physical therapy text book.

Attendance is limited to female physiotherapists who have either attended a basic pelvic floor workshop already, or who work in the area of pelvic floor dysfunction. If you have some experience in assessing and treating pelvic floor dysfunctions such as incontinence and prolapse, but would like to explore the area of pelvic floor pain, this workshop will provide theoretical knowledge and practical experience of managing patients who present with this challenging condition.
